Never Premade, Never Rushed

Every plate is cooked when you order it. Real food takes a little time, and that's what makes it worth it.

For Mom, For Uncle Todd, For What's Next

Ms. Lisa's New Orleans Cuisine didn't happen by accident. It happened through prayer, persistence, and a whole lot of love. When Chef lost his mother, Ms. Lisa, he knew the flavors she passed down to him were too special to keep at home. She taught him the craft, the real New Orleans way of cooking, from gumbo and fried chicken to catfish and collard greens. Every recipe carries her touch, and every plate that leaves the kitchen is dedicated to her memory. None of this would be possible without two people. Elise, Chef's partner, has been right there pushing him beyond what he ever thought was possible. And Uncle Todd, who helped get the kitchen up and running before the doors ever opened. Uncle Todd passed before he could see the first order go out, and that's a pain that never fully goes away. But it's also fuel. Fuel to keep building, to make Ms. Lisa's something bigger than one restaurant on Main Street. The plan has always been bigger than today. Chef's children are learning the craft the same way he learned it, so that Ms. Lisa's name lives on long after he's gone. This is a family legacy, built on never giving up and always believing something greater is ahead. Every dish, every late night, every early morning is for Mom and Uncle Todd. They may not be here to see it, but everything happening at Ms. Lisa's is because of them.

What our guests are saying

Jerk chicken was great, still moist with just the right amount of spice. Collard greens are a must try and the cornbread with honey on top was perfect!

We ordered the fish and shrimp plate with dirty rice and collard greens. Seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. The ride home was quiet because we were too busy eating!

First time trying catfish and it won't be the last. The seafood gumbo had a little bit of everything. This spot is awesome!
